About me....Soprano, Tracy Sturgis, maintains an active performing schedule. Most recently, Tracy premiered the role of Elisabeth Louse Vigee le Brun in Wilmington Concert Opera’s production of Girondines. She is a core member of Ama Deus Ensemble and Renaissance Ensembles with VoxAmadeus. She performs regularly with both Children’s Opera Box and Delaware Valley Opera Company. She is also the soprano soloist at Trinity Episcopal Church in Swarthmore, PA. Upcoming performances include the Soprano Soloist in Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de Confessore in May and Gretel in Hansel und Gretel in November of 2023.
Tracy has had the pleasure of performing with many opera companies including: Michigan Opera Theatre, Toledo Opera, Blue Planet Opera, Village Productions, Children’s Opera Box, Delaware Valley Opera Company, and Lyric Opera Cleveland. Roles have included Violetta in La Traviata, Norina in Don Pasquale, Olympia in The Tales of Hoffmann, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Lisa in La Sonnambula, Queen of the Night, Pamina and Second Lady in The Magic Flute, the title role in Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah, and Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro. Concert performances have many performances of Handel’s Messiah, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Faure’s Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana, and Schubert’s Mass in G. She has also be a featured soloist in many Broadway revues and Opera concerts. She has given several art song recitals throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio. A highlight for Tracy was performing as the soprano soloist in the Schubert Mass in G in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in January of 2019. Tracy maintains private voice studios in Havertown, Wallingford, and Swarthmore, PA. She is also the voice teacher for the Chester Children's Chorus. She has had many students continue their musical education and are performing and teaching nationwide. Many have been accepted to schools such as the Berklee School of Music, University of North Carolina, Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory, Boston University, and many others. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Tracy received her Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from Bowling Green State University and her Bachelor’s degree in Music from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. |
